
Pay- Per-Click refers to paid inclusion for listings in search engines. A company would have a set cost on a given keyword or key phrases that are desired. The cost and effectiveness of different keywords and key phrases varies greatly. The sponsored search engine listings are generally located to the right of the organic listings. A few are also located at the top and the bottom of the organic listings. They will generally be displayed with a different color background for easy identification.
Pay- Per-Click campaigns can be started through popular search engines including the Google AdWords program, Yahoo sponsored listings, and MSN adCenter. There are other engines that offer their own sponsored listings in addition to streaming paid listings from the previously mentioned search engines. Often companies will utilize both Pay-Per-Click and an organic search engine optimization for their internet marketing campaign.
