Website Design & Development

In this day and age, the general public expects businesses to have a website which is essentially the “face” of your company online. It should be visually attractive, informative, and user friendly. Contact information should be readily available through email addresses, a contact form, or phone numbers. Is that what you look for when you browse the web?

Our goal at eLogik is to achieve a solid online presence that will benefit your company and consumers. eLogik offers web design, redesign, upgrades, and website management services suited to the individual needs of any business. Every shoe fits differently and we feel the same way when it comes to designing custom websites for our clients and their consumers.

In addition to our web design services, eLogik offers search engine optimization and also pay-per-click consulting services. It is important for a business’s online success for their website to be well optimized for the user and rank higher in the search engine listings. A site can be visually appealing but if prospective consumers can’t find it, then it isn’t living up to its full potential for ROI and online marketing capabilities. Contact us today to discuss your company’s needs.

Website Development Phases

Phase 1 – Planning and Decision Making

The best thing to do before contacting a website development company is to get a general idea of what types of features and functionalities you would like the site to provide. Also, look into how many images, if any, your company already has for use. This information is crucial for a website development company to adequately access your needs. At eLogik, it is our goal to make your company’s project run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. We offer a step-by-step guideline with preparation tips for our prospective clients.

Web Design Quote Request

When a general idea is established for the direction of the new website, it is then time to request a web design quote. This can be done through our easy to use online form, direct email contact, or by phone. Any information received will never be shared with a third party.

Assessment of Provided Information

From the information provided, we will then review and assess the needs for your company. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and be prepared to answer follow-up questions to ensure we have a clear understanding of your needs. We may also make recommendations for the website that would be beneficial to your company.

Website Development Quote Delivered

After a clear understanding of your company needs and a feel for the industry is established, we will deliver our website development quote for your review. The delivered quote can then be revised by your company and eLogik to further refine project specifications to suit needs and budget. Our web design quotes are free of charge and hold no obligation.

Contract Delivered

Upon agreement of project specifications, price, and timeline, we will then prepare an itemized contract. The overall project cost and budget of your company will determine the initial deposit and payment timeline. Detailed project payment specifications will be outlined in the initial quote request for review. For example, a website development project could have a 50% deposit, a 25% payment at Phase 3, and the remaining 25% final payment at Phase 5 before the site is launched.

Phase 2 – Website Development Begins

At the beginning of Phase 2, our web design team will develop a “shell design” for your website. Navigation elements and general design theme will be presented for review with the client. After the “shell design” is reviewed, our web design team will make modifications to achieve the desired look. Once approved, we will require a digital or hard copy sign off to move forward with the project.

As the coding of your new site begins, we will verify images to be used on the website. As previously established, they would consist of company-supplied images, stock photography, or a combination of both. Your company can specify the pages in which to place the images or the page location can be determined by our web design team.

Text for Use on Site Pages Provided By Client

During this phase, we prefer to receive the majority of text for use on the website. The amount of text content on any given page will often depict the layout direction to ensure an artistically sound appearance. There will still be an opportunity later in the project development to make modifications to the text that has already been supplied.

Coding and Custom Graphic Design

The established graphical site “shell design” will then be converted into html with shell graphics for the home page and inner page designs. The website hierarchy will be established through page file creation and main site navigation links. Text content will start to be inserted and styled using an external CSS (Cascading Style Sheet).

Phase 3 – Progress Review

The progress of the website development can be viewed at any time throughout the project. It will exist within a private directory on our production server where access will be granted only to those employed and approved by your company. Keep in mind during the project that there are back-end coding and programming elements that won’t visibly appear in the web browser. Also, coding production and custom graphic creation is completed on our local machines then uploaded to the server in stages. Any ecommerce elements are to be established by this time so the online shopping cart can be configured and assembled.

Review of Overall Site Direction and Continuation of Production

At this point we will touch base to discuss the overall direction of your website and update our project notes accordingly. The second project development payment is also to be received at this time. If there are any textual revisions to be made, they are to be provided during this phase. There will still be an opportunity to make minor textual changes at the end of the project. Based on the revision to our project notes, our team will continue to design and code your company website. Programming of forms, process scripts, and database interaction will be implemented.

Note: Any major feature and functionality changes brought about that fall outside of the original contract scope will result in a change order and may affect the project delivery timeline and overall cost.

Phase 4 – Functionality Testing and Search Engine Friendly Tags Implemented

Individual page Meta content including page titles, description tags, and keyword tags will be created to be search engine friendly. All forms, processing scripts, and database interaction on the website are tested to ensure proper functionality. Browser compatibility testing will be completed on a variety of popular browsers. Any final text revisions are to be submitted.

Phase 5 – Website is Launched

The final payment for the website development project is to be received and we will transfer the new website to the live server. Our team will then analyze website programming functionality again for any server environment differences or errors and correct them accordingly. Congratulations! Your brand new company website has officially been launched!

Phase 6 – Search Engine Submission

We will then submit your website to major search engines, search engine directories, approved industry directories, and DMOZ. DMOZ is a user input managed online directory that search engines analyze and take into consideration using their complex algorithms for web page ranking placement. eLogik also offers search engine optimization services to maximize the effectiveness of your online marketing campaign.
